The President of EMEA, Chair of the European Banking Authority – Banking Stakeholders Group (EBA- BSG) and Senior Advisor at CEPS, Prof. Rym Ayadi, participated at the webinar “Post #COVID_19 EU recovery: What role for #banks?”, with Jose Manuel Camp, President of the European Banking Authority, and Prof. Elena Carletti, Member of European Systemic Risk Board Advisory Scientific Committee. The webinar was organised by CEPS and took place on 24 June 2020. It was moderated by Daniel Gros, Director of CEPS.
Prof. Ayadi highlighted that “More regulatory guidance and symmetry are needed to avoid further fragmentation and discretion that would undermine monetary transmission and the single market” and also underlined that “a comprehensive review of the regulatory requirements is needed to make sure that banks continue to support the real economy in a post recovery period without furthering the fragmentation and potential credit crunch which can be detrimental for a sustainable recovery.”
