The Economic Prospective Bureau (Bureau de Prospective Economique ) of Senegal has been established in the Prime Minister Office of Senegal in February 2018, succeeding the Economic and Social Analysis Unit created in February 2016. Both have been led from their establishment by Moubarack LO, special advisor and chief economist to the Prime Minister. Since May 2019, following the constitutional reform that decided the end of the position of Prime Minister, the Economic Prospective Bureau is attached to the Secretary General of the Government. The Bureau has three main roles:
– developing exploratory and strategic studies to guide the Government work,
– coordinating the monitoring and evaluation of the Government’s departments activities,
– supporting the coordination of the National statistical system.
