Rana Hosni is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University.  She holds degrees (BSc in Economics, MSc in Economics, and PhD in Economics) from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. Her PhD dissertation is about “Real Exchange Rate Misalignments, Trade Imbalances and Output Gap: An Empirical Analysis from Egypt”.

Before starting the academic career at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, she held the position of an economic researcher at the “Export Incentive Fund” at the Ministry of Trade and Industry. She was also affiliated with the Center for Economic and Financial Research Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science. Her main research interests include international finance, open economy macroeconomics and macroeconomics. She has taught courses on also other subjects at different levels such as economic Development and Microeconomics.

In EMNES, she contributes to the research area on private sector development.
