Kudakwashe Joshua Chipunza is in the final year of his doctorate studies in Development Finance at the University of Stellenbosch. He previously served as a part-time lecturer in Microeconomics and Finance at the University of KwaZulu Natal at the undergraduate level before becoming a monitoring and evaluation officer at a local non-governmental organization.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Economics and Finance) and Master of Commerce (Finance) from the University of KwaZulu Natal and graduated cum laude. His research interests lie in asset pricing, financial inclusion and household welfare in emerging markets and has published six peer reviewed articles in these areas. Driven by the passion to improve young people’s welfare, Kudakwashe volunteers as a tutor in high schools in disadvantaged communities.
