Athar Elnagger is an economics PhD candidate at the German University in Cairo. Her current research focuses on exchange rate pass-through, inflation, monetary policy and the role of monetary institutional quality in MENA region and emerging economies.

Her research interest spans across the fields of financial economics, monetary policy and macroeconomics.

Athar also holds the position of assistant lecturer at economics department at the German University in Cairo. She obtained her M.Sc. from Humboldt University of Berlin majoring in financial economics and B.Sc. from German University in Cairo majoring in economics and finance.

Fenet Bedaso is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at Trier University. Her research interest falls into applied microeconomics and labor economics, focusing on migration and gender.

In her research, Fenet examines the economic integration of refugees and other migrants in the German labor market, looking at the employment gap between natives and different immigrant groups. In addition, she investigates further consequences of integration into the society and workplace on trade union membership of immigrants.  Furthermore, she analyzed the role of occupational segregation on the gender wage gap and the effect of women‘s economic empowerment on intimate partner violence in Ethiopia.

Fenet Bedaso is also a Research Associate at the Institute of Labour Law and Industrial Relations at the European Union(IAAEU) since 2019  in Germany. Prior to this, she studied master of science in economics at the University of Trier (Germany) with a focus on labor economics, a master of business administration at Cavendish University (Uganda), and a bachelor of art in economics at the University of Jimma in Ethiopia.

Imene Berguiga, PhD in Economics and habilitated to supervise PhD students, is Associate Professor in Finance at the University of Sousse (IHEC, Tunisia). She specialises in Accounting and Finance on the topics of microfinance, banks and small businesses funding in the MENA region and North African countries.

Since 2010, she published eighteen papers in peer-reviewed journals, proceedings and a book chapter related to microfinance, funding Micro-Small and Medium Size Enterprises (MSMEs), female entrepreneurship and specific risks in Islamic banking.

Georges Harb is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Adnan Kassar School of Business, at the Lebanese American University (LAU). Before joining LAU, Georges was a full-time faculty member (2014-2021) at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Notre Dame University (Lebanon). He has also served on several occasions as a consultant for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and as a contributor for the Economist Intelligence Unit. He holds a PhD in Economics from Sciences Po Paris, an MA in International Economics from Sciences Po Paris, and an MSc in Econometrics from the University of Nottingham. He is a Research Fellow at the Economic Research Forum (ERF). His research interests include: growth/productivity analysis; MENA economies; tourism economics; and trade/regional integration.
